Welcome!

I am excited to announce my appointment as the MFDA’s new Executive Director.  My first official day as Executive Director was February 1, 2012, but I have to admit that my management team and I jump started the transition a little early in order to attempt a smooth transition.

We sure have a lot that we want to do in the next couple of months, but before I talk about what you should expect from me and the MFDA’s new Association management team, I want to thank Steve Yeakel for all of his many years of service to the Association and wish him well in his new endeavors.  Thank you, Steve!  You will be missed!

The MFDA telephone line has been ringing off the hook over the past couple of weeks with questions from members inquiring into the Association Management transition details, including what changes members should expect from the transition.  We are working hard to make the Association management transition as seamless as possible for all.  The only change that you should note at this time is the new MFDA fax number, which has been changed to (406) 442-7361.

The Association’s phone number (406-449-7244) will remain the same.  We have even hired Betti Hill, who has helped manage the Association for over three years, as part of our management team.  When you contact the Association by telephone in the future, you will reach either Betti or Sabrina Hallsten. Sabrina has been working as part of my team for over 4 years and has been elbow deep since January in Association transition details.  I want to thank both Betti and Sabrina for all of their hard work in making this transition possible and assisting members throughout the transition.

I also want to thank the MFDA Board for choosing me as the Association’s new Executive Director.  You will learn more about me and my background in the upcoming MFDA quarterly association publication, which will be mailed to all Association members in March 2012.  I look forward to meeting you as I make my way around the state this year.

Of course, I will also be attending various NFDA sponsored events throughout the year in order to ensure that MFDA is adequately represented at the national level and that the Association management team and I are able to provide our MFDA members with up to date information on both state and national trends and proposed legislation.

This site was designed to be a valuable resource for the public and for our members.  The calendar, list of officers, and links should prove to be real time-savers for you.  We are working hard to make all of the necessary changes and update things accordingly.  You will see many changes on this site over the next couple of months.  Your opinions and insight are very helpful and valued.  Please let us know how we can improve the site, what you might like to see, and if you have any articles, photos, or information of any kind you would like added, let us know.

Please do not hesitate to call Betti, Sabrina or me on the MFDA telephone line with any additional questions you have about the Association management transition or just to introduce yourself.  We all look forward to meeting you all!

Erin
