About MFDA
The Montana Funeral Directors Association is a professional
trade organization representing the funeral service profession
throughout Big Sky Country. The vast majority of funeral homes
and funeral directors in the state are MFDA members.
comprised of a President, President-Elect, Vice President,
Secretary-Treasurer and Immediate Past President. Five district
governors and Montana’s representative on the national association’s Policy Board complete the board’s membership.
Association members have the chance to meet and confer with one another frequently. An annual convention is held each summer, usually in late June, and a Midwinter Conference is held in January of each year. Additionally, members in each district usually gather for dinner meetings one evening in the spring and fall.
Staff leadership is provided on a part-time basis by an association management company operating out of Helena.
Association projects cover a wide range of activities, including public education on the value of celebrating a life lived, continuing education for members, advocacy before state and federal policymakers and regulators, and regular communication among members.
